What Does the Devanagari Script on My I DO YOGA Wristband Mean?

It's a great question! What does the Devanagari inscription on your wristband say?

It says,
atha yoganushasanam
which means,
now begins an exposition of the sacred art of yoga
or simply put,
now, yoga.
It's the first sutra of Patanjali's YogaSutras.

Sanskrit is the language of yoga.

If you'd like to get a great start with Sanskrit by learning and remembering the Sanskrit names of the yoga poses you already do, join us at an Experience Sanskrit workshop near you.

Find out more about this fun, four-hour workshop at www.ExperienceYoga.org.

By the way, the second of Patanjali's sutras says
yogas chitta vritti nirodhah
which means
yoga is stilling the movement of the mind

Our Experience Sanskrit workshop participants love our women's Chitta Happens cap sleeve T-shirt.

Don't just read about it. Get up. Experience it. Experience yoga!
